22nd July – 29th July
We believe in the power of prayer and fasting as a Church, and we take time every year to fast together in complete dedication to God, with faith that He wants to bring strength, breakthrough, and health into our lives. Fasting with prayer is a powerful spiritual discipline that the Lord has given us to destroy strongholds and bring about a significant spiritual awakening and harvest around the world. It is our way of demonstrating our need for God to intervene miraculously and declaring His power and our trust in Him.
We invite you to join our 7 Days of Prayer and Fasting from the 22nd to the 29th of July, where you can choose how you fast, but we suggest a Daniel fast. The focus is on sacrificing our food to find space to focus more intentionally on interceding and connecting with our Heavenly Father through the Holy Spirit. Your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is essential to know your body and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
We encourage you to follow us on social media for daily encouragements, scriptures and updates.

7 days starting from 22nd – 29th July
Jesus disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast out the evil spirit?”
So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”
Mark 9:28-29
When we want to see God move in a situation, it may require more than prayer. Prayer is powerful, and so is Fasting, but when combined something happens, that cannot be fully explained. A good example is when trying to lose some weight. Although diet is important so is exercise and when we do one or the other we will see some degree of success, but there is no doubt when we combine diet and exercise there are huge benefit and success. Remember that we don’t have to fast, we are under no obligation, but rather this is a free-will sacrifice.
Prayer connects you to God, fasting disconnects you from the world.
We want to humble ourselves before God and allow Him to break away all the hindrances and strongholds in our lives that have held us back. We want to use this time to pray for one another, our church, our ministries, and our workplace. We would encourage you to take purposeful time to read scripture, journal your insight and pray daily. Fasting creates an opportunity for you to hear God’s voice more clearly enabling your faith to increase and your love for God and His presence to grow.
There are many options and possibilities! There are different types of fasts described in the Bible, the fast that we as a church are going to do is called a Daniel fast.
In a Daniel fast, you abstain from certain foods, only eating fruits, vegetables, legumes, seeds, nuts, and a lot of water. It’s healthy and with some forethought, everyone can do this—no meat, sugar, dairy, desserts, bread, chocolates, sweets, chips etc. Only what is necessary to survive and keep the nutrition high. You can drink juices and water, but no soft drinks, alcohol, milk etc.
For breakfast, fruit salad is recommended. Towards the end of the day, just remember it’s not about being obsessed with food; it’s about our body’s appetites to come second place to the needs God has placed on your heart. We encourage you to engage your whole family in this journey of prayer and fasting, together. Children of all ages can participate in some way.
So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
Matthew 6:31-33
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
Romans 12:1-2
And when you fast, don’t make it obvious, as the hypocrites do, for they try to look miserable and disheveled so people will admire them for their fasting. I tell you the truth, that is the only reward they will ever get. But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face. Then no one will notice that you are fasting, except your Father, who knows what you do in private. And your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
Matthew 6:16-18
It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
Matthew 4:4
