Joshua 1:9
Before Joshua entered the new land which God had promised, God commanded him to do two things;
BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS.
As we embark on these new adventures, we must remember that God commands us to be strong and courageous. God also commands us to fight off fear and discouragement with confidence for one simple but powerful reason; He will be with us wherever we go!
STRONG;
STRONG COMES BEFORE COURAGEOUS.
Notice how God encourages them to be strong first. To be courageous, we need first to be strong! Strong in our finances, strong in building a healthy culture, strong teams, strong leaders, and a strong commitment to the gospel.
COURAGEOUS;
Courageous means living by scary faith and trusting God to help us build His kingdom. It’s easy to begin to trust in our strength, but we cannot please God without faith. Ultimatelv, we must step out knowing, “it’s not by might nor by power but by my Spirit, says the Lord” (Zechariah 4: 1).
As we go forward, we can see God’s prophetic promises for LifeHouse unfold through global and national impact and expansion.
The vision to plant ten churches in 10 years seemed almost impossible!
It felt like we were wandering in the wilderness, as the direction God had called us in and the vision of multiplication was lagging. Then suddenly, we saw it was time to take ground.
God is opening doors in every direction. The promised land is before us and we need to move forward; LifeHouse Church must be both strong and courageous.
God is a creator and designer who, throughout history, has sought to connect with people in a way they understand. Church planting keeps creative, innovative and solution-orientated leadership at the forefront and is outstandingly effective for reaching people. The next wave of cutting-edge ministry will most likely come from the planting of new churches. It is difficult to deny that church plants reach more lost people with the good news of Jesus than most established churches.
Existing churches benefit from getting involved in church planting, whether connecting relationally or financially or launching a new church.
